The biceps tendon
Biceps means "two-headed muscle". The biceps is mainly responsible for bending the arm at the elbow and has only a limited role in the shoulder area. However, the biceps tendon originates at the upper edge of the limbus (joint meniscus), is guided across the humeral head in a complex system of ligaments, into the tendon channel and ends in the familiar muscle belly of the upper arm favoured by body builders. In fact, the biceps plays an important role in many shoulder disorders. In particular, it can be responsible for stubborn shoulder pain of unknown origin.
